So, I finished my Argyle Sock (singular, not plural) that I've been working on since 2011. It doesn't fit around my calf. Instead of going on a tirade about the sizing on knee-high socks, I'll just say that this sock is very pleasing to the eyes and was a nicely written pattern.
The solitary sock will hang on my bulletin board as an eyeball pleasing thing. The intarsia was surprisingly fun to do - what was less of a pleasure, however, was the duplicate stitch white striping. In the end though, I was glad I did that over the pattern-recommended fair isle/intarsia hybrid method.
